Born to Korean immigrant parents, Tesia Han is a biliterate dual citizen of South Korea and the United States. Based in the Bay Area of California, she began pursuing photography at the relatively young age of 19. She is currently studying at Pratt Institute and is expected to graduate with a major in Photography and a minor in Philosophy in May 2026.

Her personal work reveals a deep appreciation for light and minimalism. She captures fleeting moments with intention, using light as both subject and storyteller. Her thoughtful use of color adds quiet emotion, bringing subtle depth to each frame.

Inspired by nature and the shifting qualities of light, her images evoke a gentle sense of beauty, one that invites the viewer to slow down and take notice.

Her curiosity and personality have also made her proficient in multiple areas of photography, including street, landscape, lifestyle, portraiture, and still life. She has also taught herself subjects outside of photography , such as music, calligraphy, cooking, and many more.

Artist Statement

I don’t know exactly what kind of photographer I am. I don’t walk into the world with a concept or a thesis. I just carry a camera, and sometimes, the world offers me something worth holding on to.

My work isn’t planned or posed. It happens in passing: a quiet glance, a shadow on a wall, a laugh that wasn’t meant to be captured. I don’t chase moments; I meet them. I’m not sure if it’s street photography, documentary, or something else entirely. Maybe it doesn’t need a name.

What I do know is this: I’m drawn to the unnoticed. To the ordinary. To the flickers of meaning that appear when no one’s looking. My images aren’t about telling a grand story; they’re about recognizing small ones. Beauty, to me, often arrives by chance.

I don’t always understand why I press the shutter. But I trust the feeling. That’s enough for now.

Eternal Grace,

Forever Kindness
