A quiet dialogue between self and space,
finding comfort in moments of stillness,
and discovering that even the smallest steps outside can feel like home

There is a quiet exploration in stepping outside the familiar, where shyness meets the world. In the spaces between hesitation and movement, moments of stillness reveal the subtle courage of simply being. It’s a reminder that it’s okay to feel uncertain and that the journey outside can be as gentle as it is profound, found in even the smallest gestures.

This body of work is a gentle meditation on the quiet struggles of shyness, yet with a lightness that reflects the unexpected joy of simply existing. As an introverted person, stepping outside often feels uncertain, foreign, and exhausting. Through staged images, some playful, others still, I capture the feeling of moving through spaces where comfort doesn’t quite exist.

In many frames, I find myself in strange, childlike positions, caught between discomfort and curiosity, while in others, the images invite a stillness, a quiet presence. They are odd and tender, like trying to fit into a world that doesn’t always feel like your own. It’s in these odd, awkward places that I’ve found a kind of beauty. A reminder that it’s okay not always to know what to do or where to go.

This work is for anyone who has ever felt misplaced, for those who, like me, long to be somewhere else, whether that place is outside the house or simply out of their head. Through these quirky, honest moments, I hope to offer something soft and reassuring: it’s okay to feel lost, to be in strange positions, to be out of place. Simply being is enough.
